Who's it for
This course is specifically focused to those who work with or have infants or young children. This course is ideally suited to new parents, childminders, pre-school workers or Montessori teachers.
Requirements
There are currently no prerequisites for this course. Students should be physically well enough to carry out chest compression on a manikin while kneeling.
Method of Delivery
The course is facilitated by an Medicore Medical Services instructor who will use PowerPoint presentation and video's to guide you through the course.
The course is delivered through English.
Renewal
In order to maintain you qualification after your two-year certification period you will be required to undertake the course again. There is no refresher training for people who currently have an in-date certificate.
Course Description
First Aid Training Overview: Learn the fundamentals of recognising and treating illnesses or injuries in infants and children.
CPR for Children & Infants: Practical training on performing CPR for children and infants.
Choking: Learn to assist choking infants and children effectively.
AED Use: Understand how to use an AED and the steps to take before emergency services arrive.
Injury and Medical Emergency Management: Covering head injuries, common medical emergencies, and medication administration.
Scenario Practice: Gain hands-on experience by practising first aid scenarios and CPR techniques.
This basic training first aid course ensures participants leave with the practical knowledge needed to act quickly and confidently in emergency situations.

Duration
The course takes approx. 4 - 6 hours. This includes module revision and examination.
Assessment
Each student will be assessed on their practical CPR skills and a short answer question test.
Students will be graded according to the score they achieve. Students must achieve a score of at least 80% in order to pass the course.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course students will be issued with a certificate from Medicore.
This certificate will be valid for 2 years.
