- Aim
- The aim of this FETAC Level 6 Patient Handling Instructor course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to effectively design and deliver patient moving and handling instruction in the workplace.
- Requirements
- Students should also have completed a manual handling instructor course and have their QQI certificate or statement of results.. They should also be physically fit enough to carry out a range of patient handling moves and techniques.
- Who's it for
- This course also provides participants with the ability to manage patient moving and handling risks within their company in line with the new FETAC requirements.

- The course is delivery through DVD, lectures, discussion and role play. The course is delivered through English.
- Duration & Assessment
- The course is three days long. Students will be required to undertake a written and practical examination.

- Upon successful completion of this course students will be awarded a FETAC Level 6 Component Certificate in Patient Handling Instruction 6N0234 awarded by QQI.
